Our preservative-free approach maintains an ideal skin environment, allowing healthy resident skin flora to support the skin barrier and immunity. *Our unique herbal mix suppresses the growth of mold that causes spoilage.
Looking at products around the world, various preservatives are currently used, including benzoic acid, approved by organic certification bodies, as well as phenoxyethanol, parabens, and alcohols.
If cosmetics spoil, they can damage sensitive skin, so incorporating preservatives to protect the safety of customers may be an unavoidable decision.
However, it is said that even preservatives, which are supposed to be included for safety, can gradually reduce the important "skin resident bacteria" that support the skin barrier and skin immunity with repeated use, potentially leading to sensitive skin, dryness, and skin problems. Furthermore, some voices point to the risk of carcinogenicity when these ingredients are exposed to influences such as ultraviolet rays.

In the autumn of 2005, at a small aesthetic salon on Omotesando's Antiques Street, our daily journey began, facing various skin troubles. At that time, driven by the strong desire of our producer, who was also pregnant, we started research and development for natural cosmetics, aiming for "ultimate safety and soothing." Our concept was to create products that "customers troubled by skin issues" and "expecting mothers and their unborn babies could use with peace of mind," entirely free of preservatives and ingredients from unknown origins. For three and a half years, guided by the wisdom of grandmothers and ancestors worldwide, we meticulously selected ingredients and repeatedly refined formulations and conducted tests. In early summer 2010, Welina Organics was born, embodying our ideals, once we achieved a level of perfection that made us genuinely feel, "We want to continue using these ourselves."
